The artist lies on his back in a boat floating in the
harbor of St. Petersburg. A sign on the embarkment reads "Don't drop anchor"
. Actually the artist can't drop anchor anywhere. The artist lives in a foreign
land, can't return, can come home only in a dream. The boat, reality pulls
him (her,me) back out to sea.
